Orchard Hotel gets a S$10m facelift

The Claymore Wing of Orchard Hotel has undergone a S$10 million makeover, with all its 331 guestrooms now fully refurbished, according to The Business Times.

“I am pleased to announce that our S$10 million refurbishment project is completed and reflects our commitment to create a memorable experience for our guests,” said Lim Boon Kwee, Senior Vice-President of Asia for M&C International.

All deluxe rooms, executive club rooms and executive suites within the wing now boast new furnishings, timber flooring and a fresh contemporary look.

To complement the makeover, the hotel’s 17th floor executive club lounge has also been refurnished.

The hotel said the facelift is part of Millennium & Copthorne Hotels’ (M&C) plans to expand organically through asset enhancement schemes.

It noted that the hospitality sector has picked up on business hotels experiencing increased occupancy rates due to the global economic recovery.

“Singapore expects more than 13 million visitors this year so the refurbishment at Orchard Hotel introduces a breath of fresh air and keeps the hotel poised for long-term competitiveness,” Lim said.

Located on Orchard Road, Orchard Hotel comprises 656 guest rooms across two buildings — the 331-room Claymore Wing and 325-room Orchard Wing.
