The former Pandan Gardens Swimming Complex will be up for sale by tender next month.
The Singapore Land Authority has indicated that the space next to Ayer Rajah Community Centre should be used as a sports facility or fitness centre.
Some residents living in the area have appealed for the swimming pool to be rebuilt.
But analysts said the rebuilding costs will be too high.
The former swimming pool was closed nine years ago, in 2003, because of declining visitor numbers.
