Pan Pacific Hotels will launch its flagship PARKROYAL hotel in Singapore in 2012.
Designed by multi award-winning design and architecture firm WOHA, the hotel on Upper Pickering Street will feature a hotel-in-a-garden concept with sustainable features that have earned it a Green Mark Platinum rating.
The 363-room property is situated at the key gateway into the Central Business District (CBD) and the Raffles Place financial centre. Waterfront entertainment and dining options along the Singapore River are also easily accessible.
The hotel, which boasts an investment cost of approximately S$350 million, will feature a dedicated wellness floor with a day spa, a 300 metre waterfall walk and nature trail, a high-tech gymnasium, a pool terrace and a business centre.
Donovan Soon, Senior Associate of WOHA, said, “The design of PARKROYAL on Pickering demonstrates how we can not only conserve greenery in our high-rise city centre but multiply it in a manner that is architecturally striking, integrated and sustainable.”
“It underpins our garden city image and will set Singapore as a world leader on the stage of green high-rise developments. The soft foliage and sensuous curves of the sky gardens will come together with the crisp, streamlined glazed tower forms to create an arresting architecture.”
Amongst its green features are automatic sensors to regulate water and energy usage, rainwater harvesting, and solar cells that will power landscape lighting. Greenery features include the four-storey sky gardens spread across the building’s façade. Overall, the property will boast 15,000 sq m of sky gardens, waterfalls, planter terraces, reflective pools and green walls.
“With its awe-inspiring design features, this is a brand-defining hotel for PARKROYAL,” said A. Patrick Imbardelli, President and Chief Executive at Pan Pacific Hotels Group.
“We are delighted to have WOHA behind our flagship hotel and are looking forward to the hotel redefining the skyline in the area, and setting new standards for the PARKROYAL brand.”
