PROPERTY consultancy SLP International is hiring Nicholas Mak as executive director of its research and consultancy division.
Mr Mak, formerly a real estate lecturer at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, will officially join the firm tomorrow.
SLP started off in 2001 marketing industrial properties in Singapore, and has been involved in leasing out projects such as Wcega Plaza and Tower in Bukit Batok. The firm said it markets about $1 billion worth of industrial properties annually.
SLP subsequently branched out into the residential property sector. It recently recruited more than 500 associate agents to handle its growing portfolio projects. The firm has also ventured into Shanghai and Jakarta.
‘With our move into Indonesia and China, we want to take real estate research and consultancy services beyond the shores of Singapore,’ said SLP’s managing director Kain Sim, who heads the firm with her husband Stanley Yeo.
Mr Mak was research and consultancy director at Knight Frank before he left to teach at Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
SLP is also expanding into property fund management and is on the lookout for professionals to head its valuation and property management division.
