Seventy-three per cent of newlyweds who are first-time flat buyers were invited to make a selection in the Build-to-Order (BTO) exercise for HDB flats this July.
This was revealed by National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan in his latest blog entry where he provided a breakdown of selection results for the July BTO exercise.
Mr Khaw said with ramped-up construction and priority treatment, newlyweds now stand a high chance of getting their flats.
He said after the first-timer queue is cleared, the government will tweak balloting rules to enhance chances for second-timers.
