National Development Minister Mah Bow Tan will be delivering a keynote address at the 45th ISOCARP International Congress in Porto, Portugal, on Tuesday.
The congress is organised by the International Society of City and Regional Planners. It is an annual gathering of key policy and decision makers, professional urban planners and industry experts from the international urban planning community.
This year, the congress will discuss the role of planning in the drive for less resource-intensive and low-carbon cities.
Delegates will also be discussing the need for innovative, pragmatic and sound approaches to deal with new challenges in sustainable development.
Mr Mah will share Singapore’s urban development and management experience and highlight how the Republic is addressing the challenges of rapid urbanisation and industrialisation.
