The Housing and Development Board (HDB) has confirmed that a Design Build and Sell Scheme (DBSS) land sales tender at Sengkang will be withdrawn.
The tender was originally scheduled to close on July 20.
The Ministry of National Development said the withdrawal is part of its overall review of housing policies.
It also said that no new DBSS site will be released for sale until the review is completed.
The ministry recently announced that it was also not proceeding with the sale of another site in Bendemeer Road, originally scheduled for the first half of this year.
This after debate over the DBSS scheme came to the fore after developer Sim Lian Group drew flak over the pricing of units at Centrale 8, a DBSS project in Tampines.
The initial price set a record S$880,000 for five-room flats, but the developer said that was an “indicative price” and later lowered the maximum price to S$778,000.
