Property developer M+S has roped in hotel operator Hyatt to operate a hotel in its upcoming DUO development.
A management agreement was signed on Tuesday (Jan 27), under which Hyatt will launch its Andaz brand in Singapore.
M+S is a joint venture between Singapore’s Temasek Holdings and Malaysia’s Khazanah Nasional.
Expected to open in 2017, Andaz Singapore will be a boutique lifestyle concept hotel, with more than 340 guestrooms. The DUO integrated development in the Rochor-Ophir area is set to complement the existing Marina Bay and Raffles Place CBD.
Currently, it includes premium residences, prime Grade A office space and a retail gallery.
M+S said Andaz Singapore will inject new energy in its office space in attracting multinational corporations, especially pharmaceutical, consulting and legal services firms.
Said Tan Sri Azman Yahya, chairman of M+S Pte Ltd: “We already more or less sold out our residences. We did very well; we have sold 94 per cent since we launched about over a year ago.
“Now that we have identified Andaz’s operator, I think that would also add further stimulus to the leasing of our office area. We have already seen quite a significant interest from multinational corporations for our office.”
In addition to the hotel, DUO consists of 660 premium residences, 570,000 square feet of prime Grade A office space and a retail gallery spanning 56,000 square feet.
